Customers can order by phone, over the Internet or in-branch. They can arrange delivery up to five days in advance by Royal Mail Special Delivery to the cardholder’s billing address, or pick up their currency from your branch network.

Beyond currency, we offer two advanced products for individual customer orders, Travel Money Online for convenient ordering and the Travel Money Card.

Easy for your customers

Your customers order currency from a hyperlink on your website and are taken through a simple end-to-end ordering process. They can choose from a range of currencies as notes, traveller’s cheques and our new pre-paid Travel Money Card. It’s possible to order several currencies at one time up to an agreed limit. Payment is straightforward: we accept all major credit and debit cards.

Great support for your brand

Being white label, Travel Money Online can be fully branded to match your website. There are four standard layouts to choose from, with further customisation possible subject to commercial agreement.

In addition, you can provide customers with a marketing opt-in for ongoing communications and promotion, and gather data such the user’s source of enquiry. That way, buying travel money isn’t simply a one-off transaction, but can provide the opportunity for repeat business.

Travel Money Card

  • Accepted in over a million Visa ATMs and by retailers worldwide

First Rate’s Travel Money Card (available through the Post Office® since 2006) is a genuine next-generation product in foreign currency. It’s very secure: the card is not linked to a bank account and customers can choose their own PIN. With no overdraft facility, customers can only spend the amount on the card, meaning they can’t run up holiday debts with it.

Equally, the card is handy for budgeting. Customers can add money to the card as they want before their holiday.

They can top up the card by phone from anywhere in the world and top-ups are free on foreign currency cards. Customers also have access to a 24-hour helpline, so if the card is lost or stolen, a replacement card can be sent to their overseas holiday destination within 48 hours (a fee may apply) or posted free to a home address.
